In Their Cart takes you behind the scenes of the coolest people’s shopping carts. Giving you an inside look at what they’re loving, buying, or dreaming of buying. For our first edition ever, we’re taking a look inside Senior Art Director and The Art Director founder, Lottie Bisou’s, cart.
🛒 Now, off to Lottie’s cart…
Can I be honest? I had a love-hate relationship with this brief—but in the best way. In December, I made a pact: 2025 would be my year of saving. Less impulsive splurging, more intentional investing (and not just in outfits).
But let’s be real—there’s always something lingering in my cart, patiently waiting for my willpower to crumble. And working in luxury womenswear? It doesn’t help. Every day, a new it-piece whispers sweet promises of outfit elevation or cosy-home perfection. So, unsurprisingly, just two weeks into the year, this brief felt a little too easy—shock horror—because my digital cart is already brimming with temptations I’m dangerously close to caving in to.
Here’s hoping someone else might click ‘checkout’ before I do, saving me from myself. Anyway, here’s what’s making me weak right now*...
*Disclaimer: If I bought everything on this list, I’d be bankrupt by the end of the month. These are purely obsessions—not checkout commitments. Yet.
Acne Studios Crystal Stud Jeans
This one’s a bit of a dream, but I can’t stop thinking about these stardust-dusted jeans. Last year, I snagged a pair of Acne Studios jeans on The Outnet—the fit is chef’s kiss, and I wear them constantly. These have that same casual cool vibe but with a head-turning sparkle perfect for dinner plans. I’m all about everyday pieces with an unexpected twist, and these deliver. I’d style them with my Miista loafers or silver Sambas.
EBDENIM Eero Tee
I’m obsessed with the structure of this tee with the cinched in waist. It’s giving understated, elevated basics—perfect for layering or just on its own with some chunky jewellery. You can’t go wrong with a jeans and white tee combo with a twist.
Edie Parker Jelly Tabletop Lighter OR Soft Serve Lighter Holder
I am utterly obsessed with Edie Parker—everything from their underwear bags to jewellery trays to table décor is pure perfection…but the pieces I can’t get out of my head? Their tabletop lighters. They live in my head rent-free. But the decision here is tearing me apart. Jellyfish chic or retro dessert vibes? Both are absurdly cool, but I’m leaning towards the jellyfish lighter because the top doubles as an ashtray. Genius, right?Something like the Funnel-Neck Shearling Coat from the Cos AW24 Atelier Collection
I adore the Cos AW24 Atelier Collection campaign and this coat, but the price tag holds me back—especially knowing the brand’s high-street roots. Instead, I’m hunting for a second-hand dupe. My style is neutral trousers and tops, with quirky coats and shoes adding the fun, and this fits the bill perfectly.
5. These Adidas Firebird Tracksuit Bottoms
Brown is my black. With peroxide blonde hair and olive-toned skin, brown feels like my colour—it even matches my nails half the time. These comfy, stylish trousers are a temptation I’m struggling to resist.
6. The Averie Lace Up Ballerinas in Coffee
I love trainers and ballerinas, but trainers usually win for comfort. This brown pair would complement so much of my wardrobe, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about Miista’s fit. If only I could try them on in-store!
If I buy anything from this list, it’ll probably be these socks. A ripe banana colour is the perfect pop against my brown-heavy wardrobe, and they’re heat tech, which is ideal for London’s current -4°C freeze.
8. The Gourmand’s Egg Book
I spotted this at a Borough Market bookshop months ago and can’t stop thinking about it. A mix of egg recipes and stunning still-life photography—it combines two obsessions: still life and, surprisingly, eggs.
9. This Harlie Brown Studio Mug
Not a necessity, but I’m eyeing this sculptural mug to elevate my tableware game. This colourway is a personal favourite.
10. SIEDRES oversized Hobo Bag
I don’t need another bag that won’t fit my laptop, but this dreamy brown hobo bag is calling my name. It’s far out of budget, so I’ll either use it as inspo or scour Vinted for a lookalike.
Believe it or not, this isn’t even the full list! Ah! My wellness wishlists and higher-priced dreams—like pieces from The Elder Statesman & Facon Jacmin—are enough to make any bank account weep. But let’s leave it here because, honestly, I can’t deal with the temptation!
If you’ve made it this far, hi—I’m a Senior Art Director in luxury fashion and beauty. My career path has been more of a zigzag than a straight line, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I started The Art Director to create the resource I wish I’d had when I was starting out nearly nine years ago: unfiltered, inspiring, and tell-all insights about the creative industry. It’s for the aspiring creatives, the established, the curious, and anyone who didn’t even realise jobs like mine exist. If you’re interested in hearing about my story, you can read all about it here.
If this sounds like your vibe, I’d love for you to follow along. And if you want to see a little more of my life, you can follow me on Instagram, although I fear I’m slowly moving away from there and sharing on Substack so much more—I love that Substack is all about your value and thinking over just an aesthetically curated feed of images.
Thank you so much for the feature!! 🥰❤️
