IN THEIR CART FT. SHANIKA
Green Banana Buffing Bar 🫧, tin of chips 🥔, an Issey Miyake set 🩶, and so much more.
In Their Cart takes you behind the scenes of the coolest people’s shopping carts. Giving you an inside look at what they’re loving, buying, or dreaming of buying. Today, we’re taking an inside look at Shanika’s cart. Let’s dive in…
1. Body Care Products
Over the last two years, I've been hyper focused on body care, and consider the following items my triple threat to smooth skin: Soft Services Green Banana Buffing Bar followed by Osea's Undaria Algae Body Oil and Body Butter.
2. Bonilla La Vista Potato Chips
I recently hosted girlfriends for aperitivo and stocked up on Bonilla La Vista Potato Chips to make a chip stack appetizer. Layer them with olives, pickles peppers, anchovy and prosciutto and you've got a low-lift sophisticated starter. The tin also makes a great statement container.
3. Kwéyòl/Creole Book
My grandma is from Guyana and for years, I've been so intimidated to cook pepperpot, the country's national dish. Thanks to Nina Compton and Osayi Endolyn's book, Kwéyòl / Creole, I'm pleased to share that I made a short-rib version for my family over the Easter weekend. I recommend purchasing from BEM books & more, my go-to Black food bookstore.
4. Vibram Fivefingers
I don't think we use the full capacity of our feet here in the Western world. I'm very invested in getting a pair of Vibram Fivefingers after I properly measure my feet per their size guide.
5. Issey Miyake Pleats Please
I just completed my first official DJ gig at a weekend retreat. It was important to me to pack a travel-friendly look that was both comfortable and chic. Enter this beautiful Issey Miyake Pleats Please grey set; it's sure to get plenty of wear this summer.
